Hey Guys,
My motor wouldn't lower so I pulled all three of the valves (after removing the $!?% motor to get at the back two) and the one you can get at from the rear without removing the motor doesn't close off all the way. Tried cleaning and blowing it out but it needs to be replaced. Evinrude doesn't show these on their website. Anywhere I can find one of these?
Thanks!

Re: 1978 Evinrude 70hp Tilt/Trim Valve

Ok, figured out the valve I thought was bad, wasn't. I compared it to one on another Johnson that uses the same tilt/trim system. So my stuck valve theory is shot! Here's what I've done. Refilled unit with fluid and bled by running tilt up for 20 seconds then down for twenty seconds, then removing plug and topping off. Repeated this until fill hole wouldn't take anymore. My original problem was that the tilt wouldn't go down, now it won't go up or down. Everything I've read points towards the valves being stuck. The electric motor spins but the outboard motor doesn't move. ????? Anyone run into this or have a possible fix? By the way, this happened after sitting all winter with the motor in the trailering position. I know, shouldn't have stored it like that!!!
Thanks a ton guys!

Hello? Is this thing on? :)

Got the tilt/trim working. Ended up there was an airlock somewhere and after following the bleeding instructions about 10 times it finally came back to life! It must have just been low on fluid from the start.

Thanks
