Port rub rail channel cleaned up and installed tonight. Looks just like the pic above, but on the other side! Picked up a box of screws for them on my way home.
Grandad, I did consider bedding them, but that probably would have ended up messy. The way the inner is shaped it would take a big bead to fill, then you wouldn't really be able to see anyway. I'm going to have the painter run a bead along the edge before he paints. Looks like that's all Starcraft did originally. Question then, what to use to fill the slight gap between the rubrail channel and gunnel top? Paint needs to stick to it...
Also, I'm going to have a fixed marine radio with an 8' Shakesphere antenae on this boat for venturing out on Lake Michigan. I have a ratchet mount also. Opinions on where to mount antanae? Next to driver and fold down rearward, or mount aft and fold down toward the front? Ideas?
