1979 Evinrude 235 V6

Engine set up for 8 months. Runs good under no load but boggs down when punched. Changed gas, fuel filter, checked fuel pump screens,new spark plugs and ran marine carb cleaner through carbs. First time I hit it it comes up, but then after I back down it won't come up again without bumping the choke and sometimes not even then.

I had a similar problem with a '79 115. The high jets are set at the bottom of the carbs and thats where they get gummed-up. There is a bulb under the carb loosen it and spray them down again. I used tecron in some high octane gas and just ran her high for a bunch of hours. She cleaned herself out. <br /><br />Hope is helps <br /><br />------------------<br />Mike Canale
