Your motor has an unregulated system (check that to be sure), so will see higher charging particularly if the battery is a little low. As the battery reaches full charge, your voltmeter will show less.

[edit. Actually, an ammeter would show less as the battery charges -- not sure about a voltmeter.]

O ok I gotcha, I don’t see anything on the engine that looks like any regulator I have seen before. So it must be working correctly, I’ll take it out today and see what happens
