if you tap the starter and finally but only get one crank what would this mean?

Usually tapping on the starter to make it work means the brushes are sticking in the holder. Time to overhaul the starter.

whats really bad is that I just had my starter cleaned two days ago, and im thinking that the mechanic might have ripped me off. If i am having to tap it to get it going. what do you guys think?:mad::mad:

Take it off and open it up. If he didn't do a good job take it to him and show him.

I replaced solenoid replaced terminal cables, spark plugs and got new battery.
all connections are tightened and completely cleaned. Its got to be the starter. If I take it a part and its dirty, then Im sticking that sucker where the sun don't shine.lol:D

also jumped the battery to the starter post and nothing. :confused:
