Good day,

I'm going to look at a project boat with the listed motor. I plan on doing a compression test, but have no way of warming the motor up, as suggested in top secret file. If I do the test w/o the engine warm will the test have any use/benefit at all? Any other items I should look for, or any check out helpful hints would be appreciated. I'm bringing a charged battery, compression meter kit, and some simple hand tools.

Thanks in advance...

The engine won't be lubed very well so you compression maybe lower than they should be. You may be able to find really bad problems with the compression. I had an engine that passed a pressure test but it didn't help me find out why #4 cylinder was pumping the water when immersed which is how I eneded up with my 70.
