The cables were OEM and the boat had no problems after that work was done last year. It ran perfect for about 6 weeks. That boat shop was extremely slow so when I hit the wingdam I took it to another shop to get the lower unit fixed. I didn't take the boat out after that until this year. Also, the old shift switch wasn't even connected when he went to replace it. He is a young, new mechanic so I'd agree that he probably is guessing. Once the alternator is replaced I will take it back to the place that repaired the lower unit since the problem has started since they worked on it.
