Hi Everyone, this is my first post here,, I just bought a 1980 evinrude 2 stroke with pullstart ,,just finished intalling the throttle and fuel cable(non tiller boat),,,i am about to replace the leg oil and i do know the procedure. Are there any other oils i need to check on the motor before running it? The reason why i ask is after putting it in neutral i try slowly pulling out the starter pull cable for movement(about 4'') and it seems very very difficult to pull. The Motor was siting in a garage for 5 years and never used in that time. could it just be that it needs to be oiled?
Thanks
Wayne

Thanks for the thread link,,very useful information,,picked up leg oil and pump, new plastic washers, i also bought a can of ,,i think it was called fog oil,,,apperantly that works for spraying the cylinders also to loosen them up.
Do i need to check for anything else,,,do these 2 strokes have engine oil that would need to be replaced, or does that come into play with the fuel oil mixture,,,i was also told mine is a 50:1.

Your oil is mixed in with the fuel at 50:1 as you mentioned. On the VROs, you add the oil into the resevoir.
