Heres my new toy!!! I've been looking at this beauty sitting in a field for the last ten years and I was dying to get my hands on it. My uncle had the exact same rig in the early 80's except his was baby blue, and I fell in love with it. The PO sadly passed away last February and his wife let me have it for a song with the condition that I restore it to the condition that it was when they bought it new in '81. I happily told her I would so here we go. A few years back, someone stole the 115 Merc and cut the cables and wires, but it just so happens that I had a 135 Johnson and controls 'lying around' (yeah right). She's in real good shape but I've got floor and stringer rot. I ran the Transom test and I found nothing but pretty, dry, unmolested wood (thank goodness). A seat rebuild, re-deck and re-string, a touch of wiring, and some spit and polish ; we are splashed. Any suggestions?
I will snap some interior pics this afternoon. I'm thinking a vintage interior with round back buckets in the front and a wrap around bench in the back. It originally had orange/brown shag carpet but that's gotta go LOL
