Motor stopped on the water, tried to start but no luck. When we got home we took the cover off, checked for spark in all 4 cyl. OK, fuel, getting plenty. When we turned the flywheel by hand it became very tight at one spot, when we turned the flywheel past the tight spot, motor turned over but quite at tight spot again and would not start. Any thoughts!!

Cheers

Derko

I would pull the flywheel first and make sure everything under it is OK.

I would think the flywheel would feel very tight by hand exactly as you describe as the pistons cause compression in the cylinders. That part sounds normal to me.

Hello all,
I found the problem, Fishing Line wraped around the prop and blew the seal, bearing was blown and the water pump was faulty.
Thanks to all who replied. Got it all fixed up for a few hundred bucks canadian.
How bout that American Medal Count.

Cheers!!
Derko
