1981 merc 115 how much ?

hi everyone . i have a chance to buy a 1981 merc 115 horsepower with tilt and trim for 2800.00 dollars . is this a good buy ? thanks . i live in ontario canada , not to many used motors around here .

I think that price is way too high. it should be in the $300 range. Check NADA for a reference

I bought a '93 135HP V6 for $1000US last summer. It also has PTT. Now of course it is a question of supply and demand. Most boat dealers around here would junk a 1981 motor, heck they wouldn't even sell a '93. I had to go to a guy (read that slimedog) who sells anything he can. I also made sure the motor was in good shape, since you cannot believe anything the dealer says.

seems a bit expensive to me and if it was a 1982 it would only be a 90hp engine since 1982 the 115hp became the 90hp due to rating it at the prop but stiil expensive

Canadian or us ? If canadian i would think closer to $2000 would be a good deal.
Chris1956 if you know of any other 130 hp to 135 motors for sale in the $1000 range let me know !
