I bought a 1982 Evinrude recently, and upon getting it running again, it seemed to be running hot.
I pulled the lower unit off, and tried blowing air through the water tube, and it is plugged. I then removed the exhaust cover plate, and there is crud built up there. So if the crud is blocking the passageways, what should I do to get it clean?
Any chemical solution?
I would like to remove the piece that the water tube goes into, but the screws are so rusty and cruddy, I would probably break them.
