1982 seaswirl omc 2.5 running too warm

Here is what the hoses look like, looked at pictures of other boat engines online that looked the same not saying mine is right though thanks

i think i found the the problem, the plate on back of the manifold the gasket was blown out where it seals the two water chambers will know when i get the gaskets and get it back together thanks for all the help everyone

the problem is your plumbing from the raw water pump is supposed to go to the thermostat housing to feed the motor. instead you have the raw water feeding the outlet of the system. the last place water should go is the outlet.

The pics I poster were a 76 and 83. My 84 3.0 was similar, hence the shoit out to kenny nunez who was an OMC dealer for years. Yours looks plumbed backwards

You should be checking the OMC manual specific to your model number versus checking YouTube

Like I said my manual is for a 82 my motor is a 81 so I guess I better order the right manual. Anyone out there that has a 81 manual that can post a picture of the water flow diagram for a 2.5 I would really appreciate it thanks

82 should be same as 81. both are 2.5 stringer mechanical shift however the motor should be silver in color for the 81 and up

part #8 was the gasket that was bad so im hoping it will work right with new gaskets

hey guys i am going to replace the transom seal, whats best sealant to to seal it the the hull thanks

Follow the manual. Screws in the boot ring. I used 3M weather strip adhesive between the boot and hull in my old OMC to hold it in place

Most of the seal is actually the rubber itself
