Ya can always go hillbilly and pop rivet a couple lawn chairs to the stern...Fold up fishing..pull down cruising

Is there something wrong with using Homer buckets? Multifunctional too! Carry bait, the catch, trash and emergency bathroom. Being portable, bright orange makes 'em hard to lose.

And not to mention USCG approved bailing devices

My boat has a thin teak rail running along the dog house and then another inside the side storage area. There are two pads that can go on each side and the back board is already on the transom area. I can just pull them out. To be honest, in ten years of fishing out of the boat they have never been used.

That thing is freaking awesome Jas! Wow.

One concern / question.... How many Keystone Lights were NOT made because the aluminum is there and not in CO? Bummer.

Nice rig! Ditch the Islander...sell it to Glen, he'll finish her up properly and get GOING on this one! If I drive all the way to MI for Starmada 2014 I want to see THIS one floating!

By the way - You now have a new place to put yourself on timeout when the kids are acting up!

Nice, Nice, Nice!

Hey, I did score these this week though...
P1110099.jpg

Grabbed em off eBay for like 65 bux each. That was a pretty good deal for automatic 1100 GPH pumps

How's about $66 retail per for the big girl too?

$10 for the 3way lighted Rule Bilge switch panel as well:

Hey Jas there is a 5.7 350 tbi sitting in my drive out of a van. Ran when pulled but would need a going through and conversion to marine.

Just a thought.

Yah, kinda, let me see if I can find a good photo of one.....

Well, kinda sorta like this...

It seems like I have see more streamlined versions of that, but you get the idea.

I know I'm a glasser and all but.....I'm just going to show you the stern layout of my boat, since your basically starting with nothing, you can build whatever you like, First I'm goona "KISS" you,lol " keep it simple stupid" ;)

My engine cover of coarse is in the middle but a have a cushioned seat to the port and starboard side that simply lift/slide out. If your fishing, just throw them in the cabin, when cruising and have guest, just drop in in place. They stay clean this way as well and are easy to store when not in use. A simple ledger on each side is what they sit on. Couldn't get any simpler and underneath the seats is a good place to store a bucket, tackle box or small children. Hehe Anyway, I just think it works. :)

Nice rig! Ditch the Islander...sell it to Glen,

A, negative ghost rider! As if we need any more tin smuggled over the boarder!:mad-new:

Appreciate the offer man! Yah, my buddy is into racing cars. He actually has prolly a half dozen V8's laying around ready to be built if I want to go that route. I'd really rather try and find something complete with all the trimmings if I can help it. I'm sure I can, just need to be patient, I'm in no rush:thumb:

Yah CC, I'll be going with that design in bot the Islander and this 261, it's a great one I think! I know those jump seats will be used a bunch for the Islander, probably less so here in this 261, bot either way they are there when I want them. Thanks for chipping in man:joyous:

Re: 1983 26' Starcraft Sportfisherman 261V Rebuild

So yesterday afternoon was a classic fall day here in the middle of Michigan.

Ryan (7) and I were left unsupervised, so, we grabbed some tools and pulled this thing off...

After that we taught the 470 how to fly!

So ya, big day for the big girl, love it!!!

Working with Ry was a blast! I was teaching him all sorts of stuff and gave him a few jobs to work on by himself. I asked him to yank all the vent hose out, he took it very seriously...

We had a riot!:becky:

Simultaneous progress on 2 boats, training a future tin-head...all without ending-up in the dog-house! Most impressive!!

Awesome man!.... Is it time to get Ryan his own signature cover-alls --- I mean man... grease on clothes is soooo much more work to get out then dirt! :)

Coverall's is kinda like a modern tin-head's right of passage --- and allows you some time to uhhhh think too!

Re: 1983 26' Starcraft Sportfisherman 261V Rebuild

Ha! Ya fellas, it's a tricky business buying/selling/working on all these boats and Jen allowing me to also sleep here at the house. Living on the edge!

This guy sounds like he wants a merc 470 if you want to sell your old one
LOOKING FOR OLDER BOAT W/ MERCRUISER 4 CYL.

HHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA Chief! Nice man but I'm one step ahead of ya!:becky: Can I just tell you the level of my excitement when I spotted an ad for a fella who was in search of a 470! And wouldn't you know it!! I have one!!!!!!!

So yah, yesterday morning I pulled the rest of the 470 transom assembly out, loaded everything in the truck, strapped down that ol 4 cylinder and made quick trip up to Gladwin yesterday afternoon...

This was a trade deal, so what did I swap it for?

A nice little John Deere 112! Here's the trip home...
