While cleaning out the carbs and replacing the needle valves I noticed the tangs on the upper and lower floats were bent differently. The bottom float was bent way more up than the one from the top carb. Is this normal or should both floats be the same? Is there a specification and or procedure to adjust the floats? ..or should I just reassemble them as they were?

here is a picture

Thanks

Another note..before I replaced the needle if I over pumped the fuel bulb in the feed line gas would stream out the economized orifice of the lower carb. Could the float level have anything to do with that or was it just a bad needle??

Thanks

Yes. Sounds like you found the problem. Both floats must be set to an exact specification as listed in the service manual. They should be identical. You adjust them by bending the little tang.
