So I just got a 1983 evinrude 35hp seem to run fine for a couple days then started over heating even tho the tell tail had water pissing out so I pulled the lower thinking it was the water pump which I did change just bc I had one but some how during the process the shift rod connector that slides onto the upper shift rod got lost was wondering if anyone knows the exact thread size and line size the hole in the connector and if anyone has ever just tried using a brake line fitting that's the correct size?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah I definitely can it's also available on a couple parts sites but I was just hoping to get it done with out waiting days and paying 20$ or more for something that I maybe to just replace with a 4$ brake line fitting from autozone

Get the Part number from that site and call any and all Dealers near you, one of them might just have it.
