I'll look again this am to make sure it is moving. In my haste I was looking at the timing pointer.

About to explode! The timer base moves fine all the way to the stop screw. Tested while motor wasn't running.

Went to start her and she fired right up and now the motor quit peeing. Not a drop.

Think I'm stumped and about to drop some coin on a boat mechanic. I think the problem is going to be my shift / throttle linkage.

BOats back and found the issues. The lower unit is from a 1978 and that explains why I kept spinning the impeller key.

The misfiring. The throttle linkage and carbs were not adjusted properly. $107.00 to have the linkage adjusted and she runs like a charm
