I started this thread as i have always ran Yamaha, Evinrude / Johnson guy. Motor was just serviced by a tech in Elkhart,TX. 138, 136 138 133 on the compression well kept on a 1984 Grady White 194 Tournament model. So not knowing much except they run very well when kept up on routine maintenance. any owners who would like to share the pro and cons etc.etc. One thing going on right now with the 140 is it cranks right up at the touch of the key and will ideal fine, however the motor is a bit "right word here" little jumpy rough only when at idle. I made a few adjustment to tweak it out a bit but it did not change the issue much. Shifts smother now anything i need to look for? Is this just the norm for an older motor ... Thanks for looking C. "Cat" Judd

A fresh tuneup for the new season wouldn't hurt.

You must have not read closely.the motor was just serviced by a tech! I even had him use the newer type carb kits as the seals hold up better to today's fuel additives (ethanol) any other bright ideals....?

Ayuh,.... Bright Ideas, eh,..??
Where did it say anything was rebuilt or tuned up in yer 1st post,..?? Exactly what did the tech service,..??
"Just Serviced" could mean alota Different things to different people....

If it idles Rough, there's a Problem,....
Old junk carbs are many times beyond bein' fixed by a carb kit...
What adjustments have you been fiddlin' with,..??
What color are the spark plugs runnin',..??

WELL PUT Bond-o!

Bayoucat58, the vague description you gave merely has us all wondering what/wasn't done??? I was only trying to help YOU, but you insist on being a smart A** in response to your original rambling post with little facts. So....now the cat is out of the bag, I have "another bright idea" You can go pay 60 bucks an hour to fix ur boat, or find someone else to help, cause IM DONE! Have a nice day.
