I just ran my 150 black max last weekend for the first time this year and noticed that the tachometer was not working. I also noticed that the voltmeter was reading extremely high, not pegged but almost 16volts. The last time I ran the motor everything was working and have never had a problem with these gauges. The gauges are from a 2005 boat I have the motor on. I have a newer stator installed and I seem to recall I did replace the rectifier a few years back. I assumed the rectifier was bad but not sure why the voltmeter is reading so high.
any suggestions or explanations?
