update.
didnt actually throw a rod, but rather spun a bearing.
still sux, and this was nail in coffin for this block.
flood + freeze + spun bearing = junk.

big end movement

bearing after removal

interestingly, both halves of bearing were on rod side when i pulled cap off.
i thought it was missing.

latest update.
bought reman short block to replace old junk. put it together and fired it off.

currently working on getting parts put on and installing in boat.

hello fellow iboaters.
quick update.
engine has been reinstalled, and have taken boat out 3 times so far.
have about 8 hours on it, so still doing the break-in thing.

didnt really stop for pictures, so this is the only one i have of the install.
working on wiring here after installing the battery isolator.

i was able to find some osco manifolds to replace the stock omc 3.8 manifolds that came with it. i like these much better, and they are the only one's ive found that will clear the omc trim rams. was a pita plumbing the elbows.
this pic was during assembly/wiring, before i plumbed the elbows.
