Is there a water impeller (circulator) in the drive??

Yes. Bottom of the upper gear case is the impeller. You can replace 'em without removing the drive ... but I think it's a LOT easier to do with the drive off the boat.

That's a big help, thanks thanks thanks, I figured they all did somewhere but a confirmation is always best, have to order one when I get the gasket kit for the drive...

Hoping that rear hole on engine is just an Inspection Place for ..... Hoping to be in the water here in 4 weeks for some testing b4 it freezes here in Indiana with these morning Temps we've been having...lol

3rd n 4th pics show I lost the threaded (??whatever it's called) tried pulling down with two fingers bit no luck, assuming once steering cable is off it'll fal back thru a lil easier

Yeah, I'm not sure what that hole is ... looks like something should be sittin' there, but I can't figure what it would be.

Your steering cable looks like a tru-course. I don't know much about 'em (never really seen one up close). Great steering system if ya' can fix it up.
