I have a 1985 85 hp force outboard. I was winterizing the boat and when I drained the carb bowls the screw and spring fell out. I was just wondering is there anything else that the screw holds besides the bowl and spring in?
Thanks

On those model carbs, the venturi dip tube does not screw into the carb casting. The spring supplies pressure to hold the dip tube up in position. As long as the dip tube did not fall out the bottom of the carb and you replaced the spring, the carb will be OK.

If you actually removed the bowl, in order for the high speed jet to function properly, there must be a gasket inside and outside of the bowl.

I didn't see it fall out so it must be in there
