ok.
so everythings back togeather. and working. however when i put it in reverse. should i be able to spin the prop? because it spins(with clicking) in forward. spins free in Neutral, but reverse it only moves little bit then stops.
is that normal? if not what could be the problem?

Reverse gear and the clutch 'dogs' that engage the gear are machined differently from the Fwd gear and clutch dogs.

Your lower unit is behaving exactly as it's designed and you've got it back together with all gears, Congrats! Time to get wet!!!............ed

shes in the water and running great. however i have 2 problems .

1 the idel is a little high. is there a idel pin to turn it down?

2 i am leaking lower unit oil from behind the prop, is there a seal in there or somthing or can it be more serious. i make sure to top off the fluid before i go out. but that will get expensive!

The unit is off the moter.but i cant get the shaft poll out of the unit. iam new to this so any help would be great..( shaft poll iam sure is incorrect)

I have all the bolts... out help

what do you mean you can get the shift rod out? it isnt supposed to come out. what are you trying to do?
