Compression: #1 95,#2 95, #3 100, #4 95, #5 92, #6 90. VRO Fuel pressure taken before carbs is running @ 4PSI to 2.5 psi and then jumps back to 4psi and then to 2.5psi and back to 4psi continuously. Motor starts perfect. Idles perfect. Revs up in neutral perfect. However, going forward motor boggs down. Recently replaced one power pack to port side where I had no spark on 2,4,6 cyl.
I am at wits end. Can you help me?
Scootter

Hi, Scooter.

You would have made this a lot easier if you had just kept your original thread. It takes a lot of time, when you are checking over a hunderd questions a day, to go back and find previous threads on the same problem.

I really doubt that your engine is idling or running perfect. I am sure that you are still running on less than 6 cylinders, maybe 3 or 4. (Maybe that should be again, rather than still.)

I suggest that you go back to basic, first things first, trouble shooting.

Listening to a multicylinder 2 stroke without a load will fool experts. Don't do it. Disable each cylinder and note what happens to rpm. The ones that don't cause any change are not making power.

Check the spark to any dead ones. 3 dead ones on the same side (as you had before) is a bad powerpak. New powerpaks are more, not less likely to fail than old ones.

One dead spark is usually a coil, wire or plug.

Side-by-side dead cylinders are usually caused by carb failure.

One dead cylinder with spark could be a carb problem (one throat gummed) or a reed problem.

Carb problems can be nailed down by spraying premix fuel into individual carb throats.

Let us know what you find, but on this thread, please. :)

You need to know what the spark is doing when you apply full throttle in gear in water, and you have to check each cylinder. You can do this with timing light or peak reading volt meter. When you use timimg light, the light will blink each time it misfires. Takes two people one to operate boat, one to operate timing light, or timing light with long wires. If timing light does not pick up miss, clean carbuators. Fuel should be 3 lbs at idle, but timming light operator can pump primer bulb same time.

This is what I did to fix my motor. First I added Sta-bil to the fuel. Then I ran OMC engine tuner thru the motor here at the house. Replaced spark plug wires and then I installed brand new Champion spark plugs UL77V which is what is supposed to be ran in my motor according to the manual. Then I ran it at the house; motor ran smooth. Then, the moment of truth was to take it to the lake and it ran perfectly. Thanks for all of your help and input. This is a great site and I hope others can learn and benefit from everyone's contributions. Scootter :) :D :p
