I have a 1985 force 125 outboard . If you pump the primer ball a few times , it leaks fuel out of the front of the bottom carb, tried cleaning the carbs and now cylinders 3 and 4 are not firing and I have an extremely high idle , when the motor is running if you put your hand over the top carb inlet the motors rpm's come down , if you do the same thing to the bottom carb it doesn't change anything , any ideas guys , please

Needle valve in the bottom carb could be bad or debris stuck in between the end of the needle valve and seat preventing it from seating properly. Also could be the float level is set too high.

ok checked the needle valve and it looks fine ,readjusted the float (looked like it was unlevel with the carb upside down ) ill put them back on tonight and see how it goes , the carbs i have have the press in seats , if they are bad will the newer carbs with the screw in seats work on my engine?

Yes the newer carbs will work, but the unless you can see physical damage to your pressed in seats, they should be OK.

Also be aware that if you have the old black floats that look like they are some type of hard foam material, they tend to loose their buoyancy as they age. You can replace them with the newer style brass floats. I've also had good results by setting the float just a tad lower than specified. That is.... with the carb upside down, the end of the float farthest away from the pivot point about 1/32nd of an inch higher than it should be.
