1985 Johnson 70hp VRO no key start?

How can I start this motor with out the key? I have all the controls and opened up the remote control...saw the key swith with about 6 wires connected to it. Any ideas?

get a new key switch...you can hot wire it, but if you do not know what you are doing, you will blow the fuse or burn up something

You can buy a key from the dealer. Check for a letter code around the housing around the key switch. Or just take the boat to the dealer and have them use their "try out ring" to locate the proper key. There aren't very many to try. You might also check one of your local locksmiths. They can often cut one for you even though you don't have a master. Some are good at this, some are not.

Fuse is located back on the port side of mtr. You will find red wires going to it.

I bought the manual, found the fuse and replaced with on OMC ignition. Thanks for your help!!
