My speedboat with a DT65 '85 sank this weekend due to heavy rains and lotsa wind, my engine went under (fresh water) not for too long, I dried out the whole engine inside out the whole nine yards, got the engine started again and idles fine but as soon as I open the throttle, there is no power at all (as if there is too many people on the boat and it can't get away) where should I start looking for the problem? My geuss is the fuel pump? Any suggestions?

carbs are clean, as I said it idles strong, I'll check the fuel pump diaphram .... do you think I could have gotten some rust from this whole ordeal, I did start the motor and ran it straight after the sunk affair .....

When you tried to open it up and no response , try pumping bulb and see if it picks up. get someone else to pump it as it can take of sometimes. If it does it points to fuel pump.My friend had same sort of promblem sounded to idle well and died at wot. When we did a decarbon notice bottom carb did not die out like top one.
Sprayed fuel mix in carb with a spray bottle and away it went, pulled down carb and found traces of noise deading foam witch came from motor cover
real pain to find . thats why i say make sure the carbs are clean.I would think running motor as quick as you did would have stoped the rusting and being in fresh water.
