I have twin 1986 E20ELCDC engines that I'd like to convert to 30 hp. I'm told that's as much as can be done.

For you experts is this true, only to 30 HP ?

I think I need 30 HP intakes and jets for the carbs, do I also need/does it help to change the leaf plate and leafs?

Are there any other mods I can do to increase power ?

Does anyone know the part numbers I'd need ?

Thanks

You will need intakes and carbs, not just the jets. Carb throats are bigger. leaf plates and leafs are the same between the 20 and 30. You can get pre-84 35hp carbs or post '84 30hp carbs, but i recommend the types with the primer, not the choke.

and when i said pre-84, i don't mean the really old ones, but the ones that share the same block and through-prop exhaust. Awesome engines, good luck with them. This is a great relatively inexpensive mod.

So does that mean post 84's are better one ?
