If your Johnson will start when you jump the solenoid, but not when you use the ignition key or switch, then there is a problem with the switch or the wiring between it and the solenoid.<br /><br />It's that simple. I'd start with the switch end. Try jumping from the 12V hot terminal on the switch to the Solenoid or Starter terminal on the switch. If that works, then it's the switch.<br /><br />If that doesn't work, the problem is somewhere in the wiring between the switch and the solenoid. Once you run that down, you should be golden.
