1986 force 85hp trigger?

i have an 1986 force 85 hp, rebuilt powerhead rewired just like the book says. but i noticed it had been altered now i have spark on 1&3 swaped cd units and have spark on 1&2 cant seem to get all three to fire. could it be the trigger or stator or is there a trick to the wiring that i missed

sounds to me like one of the 4 cd outputs is bad.

If 1 and 2 are hooked up to the same cd, leave them alone.

Then on the other cd, use the other output for #3.

thanks rosco the cdm on 1&3 is working the red wire on # 2 has no spark , tried the orange & no spark, i swaped the cdm & there is spark again on 1&3 still no spark on #2, so i tried the cdm on 2&3 and now no srark on #1 it seems both cdms work and all tree coils work & fire , just cant seem to get both cdms fire ing at once !
