That guy knows his product, past and present, and has been a big help when I "fixed" the leaky 2000
I had, then sold.
Steve also is the source behind some of my comments when discussing leaks, such as open end keel strips, etc., and
yes, the drain holes in that strip????
Now, I ask you guys this. I can get a 1985 SS201, and you all seen the picture with the V5 strakes.
As mentioned, the owner modified the I/O and I have yet made an effort to see the boat. My guess is he
got the hull for cheap with a PO SH** car engine and/or cracked boot and made the conversion.
Now, here is the Q:
I/O's have the FULL transom(keyhole only) and the latitudinal stability is there at the very aft. When cutting that away
to create a splashwell for an outboard, common sense says the structure has been weakened.
Even with the cross-bracing we all have for of our splashwells, I am wondering what the correct procedure would be
to reinforce the conversion laterally.
