I have a Erude 88 spl,the powerhead is a 1987 but the rest of the motor is a 1995.The power tilt/trim seems to be running real slow compared to other motors i've seen.my friend has a 1989 90 hp and my dad has a 1998 115 hp and the tilt/trim on both considerably faster than mine.
I checked the fluid and its full,is there anything else i can check or that would cause it to run slow?

Thanks,
Shane.

The "trim" range on the newer models is greater. Thus, the unit stays in "trim" mode longer/higher than past models. I believe they called it "Fast Track".

That may be the difference you are seeing.

Even after it gets through the trim stage it runs very slow,if the motor it trimmed all the way down it take at least a whole minute if not more to trim/tilt the motor all the way up.i know at least a half dozen people who have v4 Erudes and none of em are even remotely as slow as mine?

check for dirty electrical connections, they cause resistance, and weak power to the motor.

OK,which connections should i check? My main battery cables were corroded about 3 inches up from connectors,i cut the cable ends off and put new ends on cause my battery wasn't charging properly. After doing that my battery now charges just as it should.
