1987 25hp Johnson carberator question

I noticed today that there must be some fuel that leaks out of the carberator when the motor is tilted up. I have a transom savor, so its not tilted at all that great of an angle. I am just wondering if after running it is ok for this to happen....i havent noticed any issues while operationing it that would lead me to believe a carb rbuild is in order, as it runs and performs very well. <br /><br />At first i thought the gas was possibly left over from over priming at start, but i no longer think that to be the case.

I don't know what the problem is with your carb. but any fuel leak is a bad leak. fuel, spark ,B O O M

I know in theory it shouldnt ever lead a drop of gas, but most I,ve seen look like that, as long as you dont see fresh gas floating around or evidence of a leak, my opinion is that you are fine. If your floater hight is a bit high, it will leak a little gas when tilted. Try to pump bulb with normal force when you have hood off. See any gas coming out ? If it doesnt everything is fine.

Well i tried pumping the primer bulb with normal force, and i didnt see any gas coming out...so hopefully i am ok then. any other opinions?
