1987 28 SPL Reverse lock spring

Busted the reverse lock spring and used the IPL to get the right one. However....the IPL is WORTHLESS as to where it hooks up. Sure would appreciate it if someone could help me out here.

Best way is to have an intact engine nearby so you can see how it goes together, Maybe a YouTube video on the replacement is out there
