Hello, I just bought a 24' pontoon with a 1987 Force 125 motor. The motor runs out well, forward and reverse controls work well, but the tilt/trim unit does not work. The motor for tilt/trim looks trashed from water. My problem is that I'd like to get this on the lake without using the tilt/trim. However, the motor freely moves up and down right now so it will flop up badly while in reverse. Is there a pin or bracket available to just lock the engine in the lower position? I tried putting a piece of stainless threaded rod through the holes in the pivot bracket, but they don't line up with the motor bracket holes. I hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance!

You'll need two bolts. One for each side. A long one won't get past the t/t system.

Thanks Foodfisher! I just realized I can get a nut on the back end of the bolts if I do that. I think that should work quite well.
