No spark what so ever.

With the age of the motor should I just replace the stator, coils , wires and plugs?
And cross my fingers?

Re: 1987 force 50hp

I hate to admit it, but I dont know what half of that stuff is or where its at.
I have had the motor at the marina for three weeks waiting for them to look at it, but three of the four local marinas wont even look at it. So Im stuck with waiting for the one that its at to test what you has mentioned. I guess that if I billed my customers at $85.00 an hour, I would give them much better service. Ex. When I dropped off the motor, the mechanic said " Where is the boat at, and how do you expect me to test it if its not mounted to a boat?" I replies are you kidding me! The actual boat has nothing to do with the motor having spark or running. Maybee in wrong, but I took then the battery leads and wiring and ignition all hooked up. I got it to turn over, but that was it.
It sounds as if there is alot more there than just a stator, wires, coils and plugs.
