1987 Johnson 9.9 fuel mix

Plate on side of the engine says 100/1 mix. Seems every one in here recommends 50/1. Did johnson issue a TB changing the mix. By the way great site enjoy reading it every day.

I think someone has posted that OMC backed down from their short-lived 100:1 recommendation, but I don't know that there has been a SB on it. I AM sure that I would run 50:1.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB

Change was made sometime in 1989, there was information letter to remove decal, replace with 50/1 decal and notify owner , when engine was serviced. Bulletin 2162, dated March 1986 recommended change to 50/1 for rental, commercial, heavy duty service engines.
