I have a 1987 mariner 150 serial 0b117356, manual says there aren't any screws to adjust air/fuel, simply idle air bleeds, however I do have screws to adjust, what would be a good starting point, (how many turns from lightly seated.)

Some of the V6 Mercs had fixed idle jets, but most had adjustable idle mixtures. Maybe your carbs are from a different year motor?

You shouldn't if they are correct for the year WH carbs . . What carbs do you have? Theres letters cast into the top i.e. WMV or WMH and numbers stamped on the side flange.

Just looked at the top of the carb, as best as I can tell it looks like WH-33-1 other numbers on top are 2493
Thanks

After looking at a few parts warehouses I noted my carb WH-33, which is correct for my year and serial number however they all were non adjustable jets. Do you suppose someone changed from fixed to adjustable? should I change back? I also noticed when I lightly seated one it didn't make any difference.

Those are right, WH series use an "idle circuit only",adjusted only with a jet change. "Screws" came out with tha WMH series on tha V6 in '90......Uses a different linkage and throttle cam also..........jan. if its had a power head change serial no. on tha clamp bracket isn't any good.

Thanks for taking the time, I'm a bit confused as to what I should do, sounds like someone put the wrong parts in, should I change back to the fixed jets?

Can't "put in" wrong parts. coupla jets are they only thing that will swap out.

I wonder why you can't see them? I just have pics of the air/fuel screws, should I take other pics?
