I have a 175 merc that is hard to start when cold. I
just had the power packs changed , one of the packs was bad , it was really hard to crank before this. A while back someone on here gave me the starting procedure for older mercs with carbs. It will crank when cold but it can be a *itch sometimes. Also, i have had the oil injection taken off and I premix my own. I am wondering if I might have mixed the oil a little to rich. This motor sat up for 3 years until last august when I cranked it. Does anyone think running some sea foam cleaner through it would help.
Thanks in advance.
Jerry
