im new to this so please bear with me and my spelling LOL.. ok i have a 1987 omc 115 sea drive, its on a 1987 olympic boat when i bought it the gentelmen said it ran like a kitten ,of course i didnt start it he was a minister of a big church , anyway when i took it out the next day it starded right up but when i got out into the water it wouldnt get up when i gave it throtle , now in nuetral it would rev up and in reverse also NO problem so i played around a bit it would want to get up and go but just wouldnt, one minute it would start to go and then bog down or loose power then get up and go, it did this for about an hour then all of a sudden i got the power up and she ran ok, so i took her home changed plugs filters and took her out and she ran awsome for 3 days then all of a sudden the same problem so i found out it had water in the tank so i paid a shop 1600 to empty the tank and blow all the lines out for the 115 and my kicker, now i told the shop what it was doing and he said the water is and was a problem, but its not what is couseing the boat to loose power, or not throttle up, now like i said it wants to go, it reves up, then goes down then up again and then down, he says its in my lower unit, how can this be???? it ran awsome for 3 days , granted the first day it moaned and growned then it took off, ive read here that the prop hub could be spinning or something like that, now ive called the previous owner and he sweres to god it ran like a kitten, since he has owned it and he has had it since new, he even said he would give me a 1000 bucks back to help get it fixed, he did tell me that he just found out that his old girl friend who wanted to get married just confessed to putting the water in the tank, but it never got into the motor till i ran it, now that all the water is out i really thought that was the problem, but i guessed wrong , can ANYONE HELP ME SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS BEFORE I PUT IT BACK INTO THE SHOP, IF IT COULD BE THE PROP HOW DO I CHECK IT AND IF IT WAS THE PROP WHY WOULDNT
IT LET THE MOTOR REV UP IF IT WAS SLIPPING, LIKE I SAID IN FORWARD IT WANTS TO GO THEN LOOSES POWER LIKE ITS A GAS ISSUE IN NUETRAL IT IDELS FREAKING AWSOME AND IN REVERSE IT GOES NOW I DONT REV IT UP IN REVERSE AND WHEN IN FORWARD GEAR IT GOES TILL AROUND 1500 OR SO RPMS THEN SHE WANTS TO TAKE OFF THEN SLOWS DOWN I CAN EVEN PUT THE THROTTLE ALL THE WAY DOWN IN GEAR AND ITS LIKE ITS JUST IN GEAR,,,, PLEASE PLEASE ANY HELP OR IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED SORRY FOR THE STORY BEING SO LONG..
