Okay lost forward gear again! but know my exhaust manifold is leaking and there is water in the oil now! what else can go wrong? hopefully its a gasket i guess its time to tear down the motor. Hey anyone got a better boat for sale.this boat is killin me. can a bad exhaust manifold let water in the engine oil? The engine is a 3.0

You are in quite a fight, and I think the boat is going to win.

Leaky manifolds usually cause hydro-locking, but the water can also get into the oil.

Depends on how much water is in the oil. A bad riser/manifold gasket will cause water to drip onto the pistons when the engine is turned off. Some of this water will leak past the rings into the oil causing it to look milky. Doesn't take too much water to get milky oil. On the other hand, if you are getting large quantities of water in the oil, enought to raise the level, its not likely to be the exhaust but a cracked block.

yep cracked block does anybody know where a 3.0 liter engine and outdrive is?

Typically near the stern of your boat! :)

Start checking ebay and craigslist or just cut your losses now and start with a different boat that you can check out more carefully.
