My engine after running a while will tilt all the way up. If i disconnect the up wire comming from the throttle control it will stay down. With a test light i found that the up wire occasionally has some voltage. I checked the up down switch and it appears ok. I am assuming i have a temporary short from the hot leg (red) to the up wire (blue). The tilt switch at the motor is working fine.
I don't have a wiring diagram--does the hot wire (red) get energized at the motor or at the console/dash/gauges area? I feel i either have to run a new hot wire and disconnect the old, or run a new up wire and disconnect the old.
