1988 115 inline 6

got a 88 115 inline and tore the foot up had another foot but couldnt get old foot off due to driveshaft seized up in the powerhead. got it all apart finally after breaking some stuff and got the driveshaft out of the power but the spines in the end of the crank are rusted to nothin question is i have a 1977 150 inline 6 crank with pistons and rods the whole nine yard that is in good shape but the block was bad will the 77 150 crank fit the 88115 block from what i have read it seems as though is should can anyone help me outr on this

You can swap the cranks, I been told the dist crank is shorter than a ADI crank but havent measured any difference between them..

Nope, there is no diff between a distributor crank and an ADI crank. So, swap away!

The older 150 will likely use hi-dome pistons, to keep all the parameters of your later motor correct, use the '87's rods, pistons, and reed blocks if they are still in good shape.

You could theoretically run Hi-Domes but with today's gas they're kinda dubious. You'd have to bump timing advance back and that'd kill any power advantage, anyway.

Plus the '87's cracked-cap-style rods are much better design than the older thru-bolted type, it'd be a lot easier just to swap all the good internals over to the 1500 crankshaft.

What Ed said. Remember to get new rod bolts. The capscrew type are not reuseable. Ask me how I know.....

Thhanks a lot guys does anyone have the torque specs for this engine on the crank rods and intake bolts
