1988 dt85 not advancing

on my dt85 I have had an issue with varying max revs and stalling when re starting after fishing or it runs and will not let me power up beyond 1000rpm or it will bog and die,so I have replaced the coils ,fuel pump, all fuel connections tested the relative voltages and resistances I can and they all seem good.i went to check the timing today and I get @ 3deg atdc at idle and when I blip it it goes towards btdc but if I gradually increase the revs it will not retard.
So I am wondering if this is my problem.What advances the timing when the revs are increased,I know there is a switch on the middle carb and it seems to be within the specs..
your thought please. also is there a specified gap for the counter to ring gear and the pulsar coils to what ever as I can't see anY specified.

When ever I hear bog down and die the first thing that comes to mind is a fuel issue. Re check all your fuel filters and fuel lines. Old fuel lines have been known to collapse and restrict. Pull the carbs off and clean thoroughly. set adjustments properly. Most likely your engine has some kind of mechanical timing. When in gear and you move the throttle the timer base may move thus changing the timing. You can not just blip the throttle plates and get an accurate reading. There is not an air gap setting for pulsar and charge coils but you may have a setting for CKP. Again double check your fuel system. Good luck!!!

I have replaced the fuel line ,the pump bulb,fuel tank fitting,fuel pump .but I still get the problem.
when I went out the time before last it was great 6000 rpm and the last time out ,I re started after fishing and it died and made a chirping sound on starting and a t idle after a few minutes(as per normal) it clears and off I go with no problems but still no more than 4250 rpm.im sure it's timing related and on checking the gear counter coil is 3ohms lower than it should be ,will that effect it? or do I just replace the CID and be done with itive got a set of newer carbs on the way so I hope they will help.i have stripped and cleaned my carbs twice now to no avail

You should get a suzuki manual. Not sure but 3 ohms is probably within margin of error. It is always best to check voltage especially peak reading voltage. What is chirping? Buzzer? carb vacuum leak? If you are right and it is the timing check all sensors giving inputs CKP, Thermos, TPS. last resort condemn CDI. Good luck !!! Also your gear counting coil may have an air gap setting but you will have to check a manual .
