So I had the boat running 2 days ago and after it idled for a bit the spray started coming out of the holes as I believe it should.

Then I went to start it again with the muffs and it started right away and was idling however I was waiting for the spray and it seemed to be getting hot so I shut it down. when I went to start it again the buzzer went off and it would not start.

I left it and when I went back the following day there was noticeable oil on and under the propeller.

I tried to start it but it will not. It turns over fine and its well primed. any ideas what may have happened. I am somewhat new to this so any help would be muchly appreciated. :D

what color was the oil? its natural for engines that are used very little to carbon up and running on the muffs puts a lot of fuel in the exhaust and they ooz that black carbon fuel mixture right were you found it...chances are you need to do a decarb but only after you service the cooling system, impeller, thermostats and such....I have had a 85 force once and carb parts like needles and seats are scarce these days. Good luck

Toward the end, my 85 hp Force would sometimes open the thermostat, sometimes not. The alarm would go off due to over heat, and after sitting for about 5-10 minutes, would start up and the thermostat would open. I replaced the thermostat and that took care of the problem. But getting the thermostat cover off can be a real pain. If the screws break off, just drill them out and re-tap.
