I have just found out that none of my gauges work. Does anyone know where I may be able to find a tach, volt, and fuel gauge for this boat and motor? I like how they look so Id like to find a set of working original gauges before I go buy new replacements. Unless someone knows how to repair these gauges.

Star wars tachs are on Ebay. Everyone is looking for the speedo. Haven't seen others.

star wars tachs? Im not sure I know what ou are talking about there.

Does anyone know what ohm the fuel sender is on this boat? Or do all boats have 33-240 ohm fuel sending units?

Most of the fuel sending units are the standard 33-240 ohms. I replaced all of my gauges and added a couple of extra ones. You can use any of the standard gauges available here on IBoats except for the tach. If the motor is indeed a 1988 model, then you will need a 20 pole tach. 20 pole tachs are not as common as the others such as the 12 pole tachs.

Yes the engine is definately a 1988 model. I have already checked the numbers on the enigne to confirm this. Thanks for the heads up on the engine being 20pole. I already found this out but thanks for letting me know anyway, it would have been a great help if I didnt already find out while looking for tachs. I think I read a post on here somewhere that said the engine was a 20 pole.

As far as the fuel sending unit, I know the gauge is bad and the sending unit is good. I was planning on buying another gauge but wanted to make sure my current sending unit would work.

Thanks for the info.

Re: 1988 Maxum 125 Force gauges

Can anyone tell me if this tach will work on my boat with a 1988 Force 125:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...90074103832&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123

I have spoke with the seller and she doesnt know if it is 20 pole or not. The dial on the back that turns to adjust the poles I believe is marked 1, 2, 3, and 4. I think I read somewhere that 4 is for the 20 pole engines. Is this correct? She doesnt know if the tach works or not but I figure its a small price to pay to find out.

Without any information to determine what each setting is for, you're taking a shot in the dark. Sent you a PM.
