I just rebuilt the carb on my 8 hp merc, it has the pull choke twist knob deal that pushes on a primer stem on the right side of the carb. my question is about the little rubber cap that fits down over the primer stem, it keeps pooping off when I go to prime the motor what keeps it in place other than just pushing it on? also could some one explain how this twist/knob/pull/primer system is suppose to operate when I turn the choke knob with motor running nothing seems to happen? My model i think is a 1988 it has no gear shifter on the side of the motor it goes in gear using the throttle grip. Thanks I/A
