1988 suzi 4hp

hello,<br /> i have aquired a 1988 4hp suzuki with the built in fuel tank. i filled tank with fresh fuel and nothing happened. when i pull the rope with the fuel hose undone, no fuel shoots out. it sounds like fuel pump has gon south, BUT....<br /><br />i removed the fuel pump and dissasembeld and inspected the insides and the diaphram, and every thing looks excellent. <br /><br />if i undo the fuel hose from the bottom of the fuelc0ck, shouldnt the fuel just come pouring out all over the place? well it doesnt.<br /><br />UPDATE: i removed the tank and all the gas came pouring out the bottom tube, so now im guessing the fuelc0ck must be to blame or sumthin. cani bypass the fuelc0ck and go strait from the tank to the fuel pump?<br /><br /><br />any ideas are alwasy appreciated. thanks<br /><br />mike

Hi Mike<br />I've just bought a 4hp suzi circa 91. I wont pick it up till thursday though. Its taken a swim hence its going to get a complete stripdown. If you can hold on for a few days i'll be able to do some comparisons.<br />Watch for the thread " Just stripped down 4hp , now what ???"

Mike<br />I've picked up the 4hp this morning. Suffice to say it shot to s**t. Unfortunatly the fuel valve assy is corroded up so cant help.<br />Anybody know of a reasonably priced 4hp powerhead and carb assy.<br />Would anybody be interested in seeing any pics on what happens when you dont clean a dunked powerhead properly.
