i have been adding about a cup of fibers to the arjay to make it more like peanut butter but low exothermic so it don't heat up and crack to hell, seems to be working perfectly

i Burned the midnight oil last night and got the rest done , now to get ready to paint the topcap outer skin "the ugly side" , think im going to use that same material i used for the hull the lanco ultra ,its waterproof , and has anti mildew propertys and bright, it covers well and its bright white , perfect to seal it all up and provide some sound deadening, plus i don't want to do that headliner material , its hard to keep clean and to me it is just another place to harbor mold/mildew,if it turns out later i decide to put that stuff back in this at least provides a good sealer for the interior :) hoping to button up little odds and ends then flip it back upright to start sanding the helm area.

Looks like a tough supervisor. Maybe a milkbone when you greet him and he will lighten up on you.

Good looking pup.

Sam, ever notice when they build topsides there is barely any material covering wood since its not structural? that's kinda why i waterproofed :)
And she is uprighted:) (i am starting to get really good at this flipping boat thing , it's scary :) )
Tomorrow is cleanin day in the area, i can barely walk around lol.

I noticed that to. My boat have very little waterproofing factory on the structural as well. Ah they will trade it in in a few years deal.

I know the not being able to walk around feeling. Mine is at the stage now every time I do something I got a little more room. Even if the boat its self isnt motivation its self the path it is creating in the garage is.

You getting it done as usual. Is this boat what you really wanted when you put the cabin on the other boat?

Yep, When i did the other boat it was with a mini version of a old stye hard top i was going for , loved that lil boat, but carpenter bees liked it better...
well would love a Downeaster or a Chesapeake Deadrise , however my war with carpenter bees.. then there is the thing of being able to trailer those boats lol so this was always a style i preferred , actually loved the Alaska editions that had bulkhead and door, but not ready to have that in Florida unless as Sam said i could Ac it lol, I remember being on this type boat back when they were new, and guess that's why it was always a dream boat, i was 18 at the time. I need shade :)

got out and stripped all the rest of stuff off top half this morning gauges and what not now i can start sanding and filling,
i have heard that resin with micro spheres is goof for filler , anyone know a recipe for it ? as i will have a few areas i want to feather out , also heard you can add them to gel coat to make a thickened gel? any truth to this? im trying to have some lightweight filler for final sanding before primer.

I made this polyester filler to fair out my transom since it was out of spec according to the Mercruiser manual. I also used this filler in the bow to fair that area prior to laying down gelcoat. Originally posted by Woodonglass.
