Your someone is probably correct. I would do a complete breakdown of the carbs no matter what and make sure your gas tank is cleaned well and fresh gas to start with. Start with new filters/seperators too. I believe the specs for compression should be around 125-130 psi. What you are mainly looking for is a variation between cyclinders. You shouldn't have more than 10 psi difference. My compression is 120/120/112 but yours could be much higher or lower just depends on how you do it but should all read close to the same. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Your problem most likely fuel/carb related, not compression. After sitting for so long you'll need to get carbs and entire fuel system cleaned. Also add a fuel water separator, use Stabil Marine Fuel Stabilizer all the time. Good Luck!

Ahoy, Norris.

Welcome to iboats. :)

There is no psi spec. I write this statement about 8 times a week.

If you are doing a compression test you are interested in psi differences among the cylinders. They should all be within 10-15%.

I think your engine needs a detailed linkage and synchronization adjustment. That is if your engine is really running great on the muffs.

If it is really only pretending, you need to overhaul the carbs.
